Radu Craciun is currently CEO of BCR Pensions after being in the previous 2 years the Chief-Economist and Director of Financial Markets Research at Banca Comerciala Romana. Until the spring of 2016, Radu Craciun was the Chairman of the Romanian Association of Financial-Banking Analysts. His professional background blends the solid expertise acquired on the one hand in financial markets research and asset management and, on the other hand, in corporate governance and strategic management.
Radu Craciun has been working for more than 17 years in domestic and international financial markets, holding positions such as: Chief Investment Officer in Eureko Private Pensions, Chief Analyst in ABN AMRO Bank Romania and ABN AMRO Securities Romania. On top of the already mentioned professional background comes the additional expertise in corporate governance acquired both as Senior Consultant in Roland Berger Strategy Consultants, and subsequently as member of the Eureko Pensions executive team or as a Board member of the Romanian Pension Funds’ Association. Since 2018 he is the President of the Association.
He graduated from the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering and holds a Master’s degree in Organisational Development from the University of Hertfodshire in Great Britain. He graduated from an Executive MBA provided jointly by the Bucharest Academy for Economic Studies and the University of Washington. He also attended training programmes provided by the Amsterdam Institute of Finance, Euromoney and Ashridge Business School.
In 2018 he graduated the International Directors Programme of INSEAD and was awarded the Certificate in Corporate Governance.
Radu Craciun has carried out presentations in front of students from IMD (Switzerland), Kennesaw University (U.S.), Academy of Economic Studies (Bucharest), Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien and other educational centres.
