Narcisa Oprea is a partner at Schoenherr Romania law firm where she heads the firm's capital markets practice group and is a key member of the corporate governance and financial services regulatory teams. With over 25 years of experience in capital markets, Narcisa has acted on various landmark projects in this sector. She is certified as trainer by the Romanian Financial Supervisory Authority acting for various professional associations; she has delivered more than 2,000 hours of training to over 3,000 participants. She is actively involved in legislation drafting initiatives. She constantly advocates for changing the local capital markets legal framework so that it is better aligned with international standards; thus, Narcisa was one of the coordinators of the task force named Great Barriers Shift organized by the Coalition for the Development of Romania, the ultimate objective of this task force being to ensure that the legal framework is compliant with the requirements for upgrading the Romanian capital markets at emerging markets tier. Narcisa contributed to the OECD White Paper on Corporate Governance in South East Europe and acted as OECD rapporteur on implementation of the OECD Corporate Governance Principles in Romania. Narcisa served a term as an independent non-executive director of the Bucharest Stock Exchange and as a board member of the Corporate Governance Institute.
