Mioara Popescu has been active in the Romanian banking industry for over 27 years, out of which, in Idea Bank SA (and in its predecessor Romanian International Bank) for the last 20 years.
Over the time, she had a steady growth in her managerial roles, successively holding positions of Branch Manager, Executive Vicepresident and Executive President. She adopts a participative-consultative managerial style and has a special talent for optimizing business flows and processes.
For the first 12 years after graduating in 1985 from the Faculty of Planning and Economic Cybernetics, she has worked as a computer scientist and, in 1997 she accepted the challenge of managing a branch of CEC SA, with 13 agencies under her command. The results she obtained recommended her for the position of Distribution Network Director in 2001.
Since 2008 Mioara Popescu joined Romanian International Bank team management, first as Vicepresident, coordinating various areas of banking activity and, since 2016, she assumed a new responsibility, namely the position of CEO of Idea Bank , currently close to  the end of his second term.
In  2019, Mioara Popescu has been appointed member of Idea Bank Board of Directors and runs this board as Chairman since April 2022.
During 2016-2021 she also  coordinated  the Board of Directors of a Idea Bank’s subsidiary, Idea Investment SA.
Mrs. Popescu  has also been actively involved in the implementation of banking community projects as part of the management structure of the Romanian Banks Association, member of the Board of Directors since 2020.
Mrs. Popescu is a continuous learner and, in addition to the specific professional and management courses she attended over time, during 2011-2013 she earned a Master degree in Project Management.
