She graduated from the Academy of Economic Studies in Bucharest, with a degree in Economics.
Since 2011, member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and completed the Harvard Business School YPO-WPO Presidents’ Program, Leading with Purpose Programme INSEAD.
Joined the Bucharest practice of PwC Romania in 1997 and became a Partner in July 2004. Starting with 1 July 2013, appointed Tax & Legal Services Leader for the PwC Romania and South-East Europe.
She has extensive experience in both Romanian and international taxation, coordinating a wide range of complex assignments for multinational corporations and local companies including restructuring, privatisation, tax compliance, tax optimisation schemes, due diligence, setting up international structures and taxation rules applicable mainly in EU Member States;
Advising high profile individuals (Romanian nationals or expatriates) on personal tax matters;
Frequently invited as keynote speaker or moderator in prominent business events; relevant expert opinions often featured in Romanian mainstream media.
Assisting the Romanian Government and the industries players in introducing the Romanian state aid scheme (cash rebate) for movie industry. Mihaela is well known in the entertainment industry as being the consultant for state aid implementation.
Member of the Romanian Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (CECCAR), former Vice-president and Member of the Board of the Romanian Chamber of Tax Consultants (CCF) and former Vice-president of CFE (Confédération Fiscale Européenne), an Independent External Auditor. Starting July 1, 2019, Mihaela accepted a new challenge by joining the Tax team of EY Romania and becoming the Tax & Law Leader for South Europe. The cluster includes Albania, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, Moldova, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Romania.
