Mariana Ciurel is Management Advisor within the Bucharest Stock Exchange, a company in which she has been acting for more than 16 years. During 2010-2013, Mariana ran the BVB Corporate Governance Institute Foundation as volunteer Executive Officer. Previously, she was a MISE trainee in the AP Moller Maersk Group leadership program.
Mariana possesses a passion for both business development and strategy, with a wealth of expertise in capital markets, international business and corporate governance, and combines an understanding of commercial issues along with strategic focus. Succeeded in developing business transformation and stakeholders engagement. She leads from the front with exceptional influencing skills and an open management style to motivate people to work to a consistently high standard and effect massive positive change in a wide range of challenging situations.
Mariana is a strong advocate for financial literacy, capital markets and corporate governance. Is member of Independent Directors Association of Romania as of April 2021. She also volunteers for NGOs acting for and supporting education and children.
Mariana Ciurel is an economist by formation, having a BA in international business and a MSc in management from the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, together with an MBA degree from INDE-CNAM Paris.
