Daniela Toader brings more than 30 years of experience in private equity, finance& operations, and audit across Romania and the SEE region.
She is currently a Partner at Altamira Capital, a core-CEE private equity fund focused on Romania and Poland. Daniela joined the Romanian-American Enterprise Fund / Axxess Capital team in 2005 as CFO, became a Partner in 2011, and since 2013 has held an investment role. She has been actively involved in deal structuring, value-creation strategy and implementation, and the preparation and negotiation of investment entries and exits, with sector exposure including IT and cybersecurity, financial services, manufacturing and real estate.
Daniela has extensive experience in the full lifecycle of private equity investments as well as in fund governance and administration, from fund setup to liquidation, across four funds: RAEF, BAF, EEAF, and Altamira. Her contributions span both executive and governance roles, including board and advisory positions within portfolio companies. Beyond portfolio companies, Daniela served as a board member and Chair of the Audit Committee of SIF Oltenia (2013–2014). She was also Executive Director of Romanian Private Equity Association (ROPEA) between 2021 and 2022 and has been involved in the Valuation Committee and the Representative Committee of Invest Europe, contributing to the development of industry standards at both regional and European levels.
Daniela is a strong advocate for strengthening board effectiveness, particularly through the (i) establishment of Strategy & Innovation Committee and the (ii) development of a Board-level Value creation playbook.
She holds an MSc in International Business and Economics (ASE, 1995) and a postgraduate diploma in European Studies from the same institution. Daniela has been a Certified Chartered Accountant since 2001. In 2025, she graduated from the first cohort of the Board Leadership Program offered by Bucharest Business School/ASE in partnership with the Independent Directors Association (AAI) and endorsed by The European Confederation of Directors' Associations (ecoDa).
