Bogdan J. Dumitrescu is the Founder and CEO of BJD Reinsurance Consulting, LLC, a global financial and strategy advisory firm, established in the United States. The organization benefits of the Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations.

Among some of the responsibilities and activities, Bogdan is an Advisory Board Member of ARISE, the Private Sector Alliance for the United Nations International Resilient Strategy for Disaster Risk Reduction, the Ambassador of the International Insurance Society in Europe, and a Founding Member of the Board of Directors of the Insurance Guarantee Fund in Romania.

With nearly 30 years of experience in finance, banking, insurance and reinsurance, he has worked intensively with risk-management industries, financial sectors, regulators and international organizations, focusing primarily on under-insurance at all levels and protection gaps. Bogdan advocates for the Sustainable Development Goals and the United Nations 2030 agenda.

Bogdan remains dedicated to education through exchange of experience, teaching and organizing events around the world. He is an active support for several associations and foundations including Planet Finance Foundation as a former Vice President of Planet Finance Corp. in New York and a member of its board of directors (Positive Planet - the new name French nonprofit organization founded by Jacques Attali in 1999).

Bogdan is a graduate of the Faculty of Economics and Econometrics at the Paris-Nanterre University and has earned a Master in Economics, Statistics and Econometrics applied to Economics and Finance at Paris Panthéon-Assas University. He attended Paris professional specialization in Finance and Actuarial Sciences at the Arts & Métiers Conservatory, the Actuarial Studies Center and the Institute of Statistics at the University of Paris Pierre and Marie Curie. He was an instructor in Actuarial Science and assistant professor at the Paris-Nanterre University.
