The Independent Directors Association (AAI) and the National University for Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA) organized on June 28, 2018, the first national workshop

Bucharest, 4 July 2018. Independent Directors Association (AAI) and National University for Political Studies and Public Administration (SNSPA), through the Faculty of Public Administration and Faculty of Management, organized on June 28, 2018, the first national workshop in a series dedicated to the current realities and problems encountered on the agenda of the Romanian state owned enterprises (SOE’s) Board of Directors’ agenda.

The topic of this first debate was “The Role and Position of Internal Audit in State Enterprises”, and among the speakers were Sorana Baciu, AAI President and President of the Audit Committee, SNGN Romgaz S.A., Diana-Camelia Iancu, PhD, Dean, Faculty of Public Administration, SNSPA, Florina Pinzaru, PhD, Associate Professor, Faculty of Management, SNSPA, Alina Dimitriu, Partner, Ernst & Young, Stefan Popescu, Public Affairs Director, Engie. The event was moderated by Ileana Botez, Vice President, AAI and Adelina Dumitrescu-Peculea, PhD, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Public Administration, SNSPA.

The subject raised many questions from the audience, especially regarding the need  to harmonize the provisions of the Internal Public Audit Law and those of the Corporate Governance Ordinance regarding the subordination of the Internal Audit Department in SOE’s.
