The IESE Center for Corporate Governance (IESE CCG) and the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) will hold the Annual Conference on Corporate Governance, which will take place on October 28-30, 2020.
The theme of the 2020 IESE-ECGI Conference is "Can Purpose Deliver Better Corporate Governance?" The traditional notion of companies as profit-maximization institutions is too narrow and does not respond well to the pressing challenges our world faces today. Purpose is, or can be, a powerful lever for sustained long-term value. And, if purpose matters, how can corporate leaders infuse corporations with a greater purpose? What roles do the CEO, the board of directors, and shareholders have in designing, strengthening, and reinforcing (when needed) corporate purpose?
IESE CCG and ECGI are partnering to bring together leading scholars, including Nobel Laureate and MIT Professor Bengt Holmström, from the fields of strategy, organisational theory, organisational economics, finance and corporate law to address these important questions with thoughtful business executives, corporate lawyers, asset managers, and board directors from a variety of sectors.
If you would like to attend the conference, please register by September 30, 2020. After this date, the conference registration will be closed and we will no longer be able to guarantee you a spot.
