With more than 20 years of experience in private equity investments in Western and Eastern Europe, Ioana Lazar was Partner and Country Director at the GED Capital private equity group in Madrid, Spain and Bucharest, Romania.
Ioana has been a member in more than 10 Boards of Directors and 12 Management Committees of GED Capital portfolio in Spain, Portugal, Romania and Bulgaria. She was also the Executive President of TEB Energy Business and CBB Romania.
In addition to her investing activity, Ioana has contributed to the development and teaching of several entrepreneurship education modules in the field of private equity and corporate governance. She collaborated, thus, with various higher education institutions, such as IE Business School Madrid, ESADE Madrid, INCAE Costa Rica, UE Berlin and Arden University UK. She has also been a recurring speaker at Invest Europe (formerly the European Venture Capital Association) on issues related to private equity and the role of private equity in increasing the portfolio value through corporate governance.
She is currently Professor of Finance at ESIC Business School in Madrid, Spain and partners with various business schools in Europe and Latin America in the financial field, focusing on M&A, corporate governance and private equity.
Graduated from the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Ioana Lazar holds an MBA from IE Business School Madrid, is a Fellow of Advanced Higher Education UK and pursues her PhD at the Pontifical University Comillas Madrid.
